Raw Earth workshop Shuprana

BC architects and studies organised this international research and build workshop in the region of Marrakech (Morocco) in collaboration with the association Solve the Puzzle. The workshop focused mainly on 2 raw earth techniques; rammed earth and adobe masonry. These building methods were combined with theoretical lectures and designing sessions in which earth construction details were elaborated together with the participants. The workshop was organised by Let’s Solve The Puzzle and led by BC Studies together with Switzer Wayne (architect and earth constructor at Lehm Ton Erde Gmbh and assistent of Anna Heringer & Martin Rauch at ETH Zurich).

As a tangible result of the workshop, the participants built a shelter for the community of Shuprana.
