Zukunft Bau Pop-up Campus Aachen

The Zukunft Bau Pop-up Campus was a temporary space for joint experimentation, research and teaching. 31 research teams from 16 different universities in Germany came together in a former, temporarily converted building society in Aachen. Under the motto "Save Material - Save the Planet", the participants researched climate- and resource-friendly construction methods and the appropriate use of existing buildings. Research was carried out in and on buildings, and the findings were presented and shared in a joint exhibition.

Ken De Cooman, cofounder of BCasm, contributed the text "Down to Earth: Umwandlung von urbanem Erdaushub in Baumaterialien" which was the base of his presentation during the Zukunft Bau project days and published in "Zukunft Bau Pop-up Campus Aachen" by Bundesinstitut für Bau-, Stadt- und Raumforschung (BBSR) im Bundesamt für Bauwesen und Raumordnung (BBR) in October 2023.
